At the entrance there were activists tables, basically groups that support different causes and tell us about things that we aren't aware of in our daily lives. One of the tables talked about International Amnesty for the Colombian children rights. Saying that their employment conditions are terrible and their government doesn't step in. Why don't we step in.. sounds like a good cause. More problems.
The other table was talking about the IDF and the good things they do. Like helping the philippines after the typhoon they had, helping haiti survivors and many other things. Many people do not know what the IDF is all about and they just speculate with what they heard. Well the IDF is boys and girls 18-21 years old just like me and you a few years ago. Young people with big responsibilities. Not an easy task, but it does say something about the nation. In the IDF you can find all kinds of people. You have gay people, you have black people and also have arab-israelis. You have Jewish and non-Jewish people but the army based on Jewish principles. Well that's what I mostly heard.
The other table on the lower level of the building was concentrating on anti-abortion issue.
There I had to write my opinion about this issue and I could also talk about it with the rep's.
Their claim was that "abortion is murder" so my response was "no one has the right to take a life.. but.." and I just left them with this.
So overall the visit was fun, it's very busy in there. Give it a try!
